Trekking at Mount Agung
Mount Agung is the highest mountain in Bali which has 3.142 meters high above sea level. At the bottom of mount Agung, there are two large temples are called Besakih Temple, which is the largest temple in Bali and Pasar Agung Temple.
We can climb Mount Agung from two routes directions. The two shortest and popular routes are from Pura Besakih (Besakih Temple), on the southwest side of the mountain and from Pura Pasar Agung (Pasar Agung Temple), on the souththern slopes.
Trekking start from Besakih Temple is specially for experience trekker, because rote is extreme route.
For biginer Trekker better start from Pasar Agung Temple.
You can enjoy the sunrice while having your breakfast that has been prepared on the spot. You are also able to take pictures around it. You will be able to see the oval shaped crater by looking straight down into it which is about 500 meters deep. In addition, you can see on your south the Mount Rinjani on the neighboring island of Lombok. After you enjoy the beautiful scenery, you only have to spend 3 hours to go back to Pasar Agung Temple.
The rate are including of: hotel transfers, entrance fee, experienced English speaking guide, hot coffee or tea, souvenir, sandwich and meneral water.
Estimated pick up time for trekking start from Pasar Agung Temple based on area:
- Nusa Dua / Jimbaran: 11.00 pm and return at 03.00 pm
- Sanur / Kuta / Seminyak / Ubud: 11.30 pm and return at 02.45 pm
Estimated pick up time for trekking start from Besakih Temple based on area:
- Nusa Dua / Jimbaran: 21.00 pm and return at 03.00 pm
- Sanur / Kuta / Seminyak / Ubud: 21.30 pm and return at 02.45 pm
During the ceremony days in Besakih Temple, Pasar Agung Temple and its surroundings, the trekking activities to Mount Agung are not allowed.
Such as: Purnama Kelima for 11 days, Purnama Kedasa for 11 days, Buda Wage Kulantir for 5 days.
The trekking will be guided by experienced guide who has been climbing Mount Agung since 1996. He will arrange your trip more than just a trekking and provide flash light, tend, walking sticks.
